Great spin (box set collection) for the value paid that's fun to read and refreshing in the age of rinse and repeat copy/clone urban fantasies.
I absolutely love this series. I have never had a story that could hold me mesmerized for so long. The story is ongoing without pause or breathing room. He barely has time to get back on his feet before someone else is trying to kill him. It is well worth the time to read and enjoy these books. I read them individually but this is a great chance to get them as a set.
I thoroughly enjoyed the first three books. An easy, hilarious, curious storyline. He doesn't always come up with an answer, and he gets his butt kicked often, but Laz comes across as "real". A very human individual. I've been giving a lot of books a go recently, searching for a series that can keep my attention and give me some feeling of having read something I enjoyed - this is one series I'll continue to follow. (Yeah, I like J Butcher's series as well, and Chi town is a'right but I was born in New Orleans.) :)
I really enjoy this series. Each book readers get to see Lazarus (Laz to his friends and probably anyone else who will talk to him) grow and evolve as a character. Other characters in the series are also fleshed out and the storyline moves at a good pace.I highly recommend!
Lazarus is an awesome protagonist. I really enjoy this series and it would be a great addition to the libraries of anyone into urban fantasy.
